Why We Changed Our Logo: A New Look, Rooted in Purpose

Updated: Jul 11

At Warande, change is more than a visual update – it’s a declaration of who we are, what we stand for, and where we’re headed.

We are proud to unveil our refreshed logo, a bold, intentional shift that marks a new chapter in our journey. This is not just a rebrand. It’s a renewed commitment to our core value: mutual learning and reflection as tools for transformation Honouring Our Past,  Embracing Our Future.

Since our founding in 2016, Warande has grown from a consulting centre into a catalytic force for systems change. Our previous logo served us well – anchored in our genuine interest in walking the journey with you towards institutional excellence. But as our mission evolved and our impact deepened, we knew it was time for our visual identity to reflect the energy, cross-border collaboration, and momentum that define us today.

Our new logo signals that growth.

The decision to retain only the name “Warande,” dropping “Advisory Centre,” marks a significant evolution in our identity and purpose. As our organisation has grown, so too has our impact - expanding beyond advisory services to become a locally rooted but globally transformative organisation that bridges the gap between grassroots community needs and systems-level change across Africa. The name “Warande” now stands alone; as a powerful, unifying symbol that transcends the limitations of our former designation. It embodies our deep roots in Pan-African, local leadership, and cross-border collaboration, while signaling our readiness to represent and serve the continent in its entirety. By shedding the “Advisory Centre,” we acknowledge the growth, embracing a name that is bolder, more inclusive, and truly representative of the dynamic, pan-African vision that Warande stands for today.

The Meaning Behind the Symbol

Look closely at the new logo, and you’ll notice something powerful: the final letter "e" transforms into an open hand. This isn’t a design flourish. It’s a visual embodiment of Warande’s role in the World.

The hand symbolizes care well-being, connection, and support. It speaks to our core identity as an intermediary - a connector between communities and resources, between local solutions and global systems. Just as a hand reaches out to uplift, guide, and stand in solidarity, Warande exists to amplify the work of local organizations, supporting them on their path to resilience, recognition, and leadership.

It’s a small gesture with a big message: we’re here to support, not to overshadow. That open hand represents partnership, collaboration, and shared strength.

We hope this new look speaks to the same values you’ve always known us for: local leadership as essential to sustainable development, equity and accountability as non-negotiables, and care and well-being of organizational leaders as foundational to long-term impact.

Thank you for being part of our story - past, present, and future.

Let’s continue building a world where local voices lead, systems shift, and communities thrive.
